Sr. Applications C# Developer for Regular Employment

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Senior Application Developer plays a key role within the application development team.  The Senior Application Developer works closely with the Application Development Manager to ensure the successful completion of assigned department projects.  He or she will essentially represent the teams “best practices” in action providing an example for other members of the team to emulate.  The Senior Application Developer will proactively seek out ways to improve process/system efficiencies and will work with the Principal Application Developer to ensure that team goals are attained.  The Senior Application Developer manages projects.  This includes management of development resources, conducting of progress meetings, communication of project status to all levels of the company, and interfacing with other departments during the development lifecycle.  The Senior Application Developer is a major contributor to department brainstorming and design meetings.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

·          Minimum of 5 years application development experience.
·          Minimum of 5 years experience in designing and developing databases and database systems.
·          Strong experience with data analysis, data mining and data modeling.
·          Minimum 3 years experience in C# and .Net framework. Java experience is a big plus
·          MUST have strong database design experience using  MS SQL 2005 (or later)
·          MUST have a strong understanding of RDBMS with database normalization.  
·          MUST be self-motivated and have the ability to work with little supervision.
·          4 years experience writing complex SQL script using TSQL, Cursors and Logic under MS SQL Server.
·          Bachelor’s Degree in Information Science, Computer Science or Software Engineering M.S. preferred.
·          Strong background in database administration, performance tuning and indexes.

Position Expectations:

·          Develop software to be used company wide by non-developers to facilitate defined business processes.
·          Performs software development based on a functional requirement document.
·          Team-Lead of developer resources in order to accomplish a specific project.
·          Handles escalation and troubleshooting coming from existing applications.
·          Designs functional requirements to implement predefined business rules.
·          Attends specification meeting with project team workers to determine scope and limitations of project.
·          Plans, develops, tests, and documents computer programs, applying knowledge of programming techniques and computer systems.
·          Consults with user to identify current operating procedures and clarify program objectives.
·          Reads manuals, periodicals, and technical reports to learn ways to develop programs that meet user requirements.
·          Analyzes, reviews, and alters systems to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.
·          Writes documentation to describe system development, logic, coding, and corrections.
·          Assists users to solve operating problems. Recreates steps taken by user to locate source of problem and alters program to correct errors.
·          Adheres to all Company policies and procedures.
·          Must be congenial to other customers, clients, employees at all times
·          Shares job knowledge, skills and ideas with other employees.
